Cheryl Adfa Sheehy Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Cheryl Adfa Sheehy, age 63, of St. Ignace, Michigan, passed peacefully in her sleep from complications of COPD, on June 14, 2022. She was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, on December 26, 1958, to Albert Carl and Florence Viola (Wells) Tucker. Cheryl grew up in Clinton Township, Michigan, and started working at Powder Cote Auto Factory in Mt. Clemens for three years. She then worked at CAE Plastics, where she met Scott Oderfer and they married on January 12, 1985. Cheryl and her children moved to St. Ignace in the early 1990’s, where they began a new life in the U.P. She started working with Howard Johnson as a housekeeper for a few years before going to private housekeeping for residents such as Mr. Rubin. She then became the bookkeeper for her then husband Richard Sheehy Jr’s business R&C Construction. She then started working at Glen's Market before the name change to Family Fare, for several years. There she maintained community relations with many customers and exchanged stories of her children and grandchildren. She often reported back to her son who loved hearing about the community and friends saying hello. Cheryl loved gardening flowers, crocheting, her cat Roo-Bee - who she loved dearly, her children, and grandchildren. She loved the St. Ignace Community, especially since she knew what was always going on, and loved everyone who was a part of her life. Cheryl is survived by her son, Chris (Tessa) Oderfer of Pensacola, Florida; daughter, Salenna Edwards of Iowa; several former stepchildren, Mandi (Casey) Sheehy of St. Ignace, Richard Lee (Shannon) Sheehy of Walkerville, MI, Jenny (Scott) Schlehuber of Harbor Springs, MI; grandchildren, Madison, Aurora, Camdyn, Stevie, Scottie Oderfer, Austin, and Ariana Getchell; sisters, Floral (William) Trombley III of Lapeer, Michigan, and Sonya (Raymond) Poole of Madison Heights, Michigan; and many more beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and former step-grandchildren. Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Matthew Oderfer. A Memorial Gathering will take place at Galer Dodson Funeral Homes in St. Ignace, on June 24, 2022, from 3:00 P.M. till 4:00 PM with the Memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM.
