Halsey Charles Telling, age 60, of Moran, Michigan, died at his home surrounded by loved ones on August 15, 2022. He was born in Flint, Michigan, on February 16, 1962, to Halsey William and Madelaine Charlotte (Hutchinson) Telling. Halsey grew up in Flushing, Michigan, and graduated from Flushing High School in 1980. He attended Mott Community College and the Flint Police Academy in Flint, Michigan, and graduated from the academy in 1983. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Kelly Ann Parks on September 8, 1984, in Flushing, Michigan. He started working for the Flushing City Police and served for twenty-seven years. He retired in 2011 and started working as a business agent for the Police Labor Council. Halsey was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Halsey loved fishing, hunting, traveling, watching sports, and spending time with his grandson. Halsey is survived by his wife, Kelly Telling of Moran, Michigan; son, Zachary Ryan Telling of Hollywood, Florida; daughter, Alyssa (Cody Allen) Telling Damon of Grand Blanc, Michigan; grandchild, Parker Allen Damon; and sisters, Sherry Telling of Clio, Michigan, and Diane (Mark) Rodriguez Marcos of Elk Grove, California. Halsey is preceded in death by his parents, Halsey William Telling and Madelaine Charlotte Telling. Services were held at Swartz Funeral Home in Flint, Michigan on August 18, 2022. Memorials can be made out to Kelly Telling and sent to Swartz Funeral Home in Flint, MI.
