James William Lamoreaux

January 9, 1931 - December 5, 2021

James W. Lamoreaux (Jim), 90, of St. Ignace, Michigan, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Mackinac Straits. He always had a smile and a warm welcome for everyone. Our community lost a great friend! He was born January 9, 1931, and was raised by Bert and Bertha Lamoreaux. He graduated form Sault High School in 1950. He retired from the Mackinac Bridge Authority in 1997 after working there for 31 years. He was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. He loved to golf, go on walks with his dog Cassie and attending all sporting events. His family was his life. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Coralie (Gilroy) Lamoreaux; daughters, Lynda Brown (Bob), Holly Lamoreaux (Mort), Sharon Litzner (Jimmy), and Jayne Lamoreaux; 11 grandkids, and 17 great-grandkids. He was preceded by his parents, Bert and Bertha; and his daughter Leane Mary. There will be no memorial service. Please remember him when you saw him last, sitting in his porch waving with a big smile.
