John W. Moses Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John W. Moses, 51 of St.Ignace passed away early Thursday morning, September 11 at the home of his mother following a lingering illness. He was born in St.Ignace on November 15,1962 to Francis and Rosemarie (Shomin) Moses. He graduated from LaSalle High School in 1980. He has been a carpenter all his life, working on Mackinac Island for Rich Boss; Maverick Construction; Jason St.Onge and the past year for the Kewadin Casino in Maintenance and housekeeping. He is a life member of Sault Tribe Chippewa Indians, and St.Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church. He is survived by his mother, Rosemarie; sisters, Geraldine (Leonard) Knauf. Sault Ste. Marie; Catherine (James) Hadley, St.Ignace; Cecelia (Robert) Holmes, St.Ignace; Karen Moses, Hinesville,, Georgia; Midge Tillman, St.Ignace; Christina(Martin) Reinhardt, Gwinn; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Edward in 1983; Robert in 1988; and his father, Francis in 2006. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, September 15 at 11 am at St.Ignatius Catholic Church with Fr. Pawel Mecwel officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10 to 11 am. Burial will be in Wequayoc Native American Cemetery on M134. Dodson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
