Judith Ann Massey Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On Thursday, June 2, Judith “Judy” Ann Massey passed away at the age of 83, surrounded by her children, after a battle with cancer. She was born October 26, 1938, to Arthur and Arbutus Reiman. Judy married Donald W. Massey on November 10, 1956. She was called to care for others throughout her life, raising five children and befriending and visiting many people in long term care at Mackinac Straits Hospital over the years. Judy was also an animal lover, especially caring for her pets and the birds and chipmunks she fed in her backyard. Judy and Donald’s home was a warm and welcoming place for their ever-growing family, especially at Christmas, when Judy went all out with decorations, presents, and baking. Judy is survived by her children, Tony (Marcella) Massey, Tammi Massey TerAvest, Jamie (Margaret) Massey, Kelly (Xinia) Massey, and Melissa (Kevin) Laver; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and long-time friend, Betty Laver Sorrels. Judy was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and son-in-law, Michael TerAvest. Judy lived in St. Ignace for 65 years and will be missed by many.
