Lola Elaine Davis

Lola Elaine Davis, 85, of St. Ignace passed away Tuesday, August 18 at Evergreen Living Center in St. Ignace following a long illness. She was born in Rexton, August 24, 1934 to Frank and Caroline (Derusha) Maddix. Lola was married to Eugene Davis and he passed away in 2003. She was a very hard worker, working at the Long Term Care Facility several years. She is a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church and the Sault Tribe Chippewa Indians. She loved Bingo and garage sales. She had lived several years in Newberry, but lived in St. Ignace most of her life. She is survived by her children whom she loved dearly; 3 sons, Frank and April Davis, of St. Ignace; Jesse and Kimberly Davis, of Sault Ste. Marie; Jerry Wilson, of California; a daughter, Caroline Davis, of St. Ignace; and a dear sister, Fannie Aslin, of Newberry; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Jesse Maddix. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24, her birthday, at 11 am at Dodson Funeral Chapel with Father Frank Ricca officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am to time of service. Burial will be in Caffey Cemetery, Hendricks Township.
