Marcella Jankowski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marcella Jean (Helms) Jankowski, age 83, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died at Medilodge in Cheboygan on July 25, 2022. She was born on July 22, 1939, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Carl Jefferson and Marcella (Venda) Helms. Marcella grew up in Ecorse Mi. and graduated from Ecorse High School. She married the love of her life, Edward Andrew Jankowski and worked for Montgomery Ward while raising a family. She raised two sons, Dennis and Edward. After the boys were older, she went on to work for AAA for many years. Marcella migrated to the Upper Peninsula when her son bought a Motel in Manistique, Michigan, and she helped operate the business for over ten years. She later settled in St. Ignace and enjoyed some well needed rest and retirement. Marcella enjoyed spending time on craft projects and solving puzzles. Most of all, she loved being a mother and grandmother. She was always there for her family and showered them with love; she will be greatly missed by many. Marcella is survived by her sons, Dennis (Lindamarie) Jankowski of St. Ignace and Edward Carl Jankowski of Allen Park, Michigan; grandchildren, Jason and Craig Jankowski; as well as many friends and family. Marcella is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; parents, Carl and Marcella Helms; and brother, James Helms. There will be a Memorial Service at Straits Evangelical Church on August 13, 2022, at 2 PM.
