Margaret "Peggy" Lou Davis

Margaret “Peggy” Lou Davis, 93, of Rudyard, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Evergreen Living Center in St. Ignace. She was born on January 29, 1928, in Petoskey, Michigan to the late Don V. and Jean (Colden) Moreau. Margaret grew up in Clarion, Michigan on a small family farm that included a commercial green house. She graduated from Petoskey High School in 1946 where she received awards for her typing proficiency. In 1947 she married Larry G. Davis in Boyne City, Michigan In 1948 they moved to Rudyard where they began a family and remained as vibrant parts of the community. Margaret was a scout leader and an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rudyard where she served many years teaching Sunday school and as a women’s group leader. Patience and kindness were felt by friends as well as her family. She enjoyed singing in several area chorale groups and getting together to play cards. Margaret is survived by five children: Elizabeth (Paul) Davis-Gonzales of San Antonio, Deborah Davis of Lansing, Gary (Becky) Davis, and Barry (Lori) Davis, both of Rudyard and Terry (Barb Ziomek) Davis of Kimball; six grandchildren: Stephen Davis, Alicia (Tom) Lawlor, Christina (Rob) Bradley, Eric Davis, all of Rudyard, Kevin (Val) Davis of Wisconsin Dells, and Lindsey Davis of Hancock; and seven great-grandchildren: Randy Davis, Tanner Bradley, Jadon, Kallen and Ashlynn Lawlor as well as Alie and Amelia Davis; and one great-great granddaughter Aubrey Davis. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Larry, a brother Kenneth Moreau and two sisters: Betty Wuerth and Cecile Hire. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held Thursday, May 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rudyard Township Community Center. Memorials may be made to the Rudyard Pool Committee, 11264 W.
