Michael D. Vos Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Vos, Michael “Mike” D., passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, following a brave battle with cancer. Mike was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on September 1, 1969, the son of Dale and Barbara (Havercamp) Vos. One of five children, Mike was his sisters’ only brother. Mike was self-employed as a professional drywall installer for over 25 years. He took pride in Vos Drywall’s success, performing work for both residential and commercial applications. He took great care in making sure his customers were completely happy with his work. Mike also loved the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so much so that he and Jennie moved to the Eastern U.P. and made a beautiful home in Goetzville, where he loved to garden and play with his beloved dogs, Rudy and Rilie. Mike was also a very Christian man. He enjoyed studying scripture and other bible passages. He was also a very good hunter and enjoyed getting outside each fall to see what was in store during the hunting season. On August 6, 2010, he married the former Jennie VanderBerg, and they recently celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Barbara, his sister, Kathryn Vos, his mother-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Greenland, and his beloved dog, Rudi. Mike is survived by his wife, Jennie Vos of Goetzville, Michigan, children, Allie Vos and Michael Vos of Grand Rapids, Michigan, a stepson, Erik (Kayte) Kemink of Hessel, Michigan, 4 grandchildren, Jayden, Elizabeth “Lizzie”, Oakley, and Benson, as well as Brother and Sister-In-Law, John and Laurie VanderBerg from De Tour Village, Michigan and their son, Mike’s nephew, James VanderBerg from Panama City Beach, Florida. Lastly, Mike leaves to cherish his memory, sisters Sue, Jan, and Lois, all from the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place. There will be no memorial service or visitation. The family intends on a celebration of life later on in the fall of 2022.
