Sandra \"Sandi\" Mularz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sandra "Sandi" Lynne Mularz, 67 of Cheboygan passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 30 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. She was born February 1,1947 in Saginaw to Francis "Frick" and Alta (Faist) Smith. She was a graduate of Midland High School, Delta College, and Northwood University. Sandi operated a successful hair salon in Midland called The Countryside Hair Shop.. She also was a member of the Midland Landlord Association and owned several area rentals .Sandi moved to Cheboygan in 1993 with her husband to manage Brubakers Housing in Cheboygan. Several years later she and her husband became real estate brokers and established Land and Homes Reality in Cheboygan. In her early years she worked for Dow Chemical in Midland. She was the President of the Mackinaw City Womens Club, and was Secretary of the Senior Center in Mackinaw City. She loved Mackinac Island and St.Ignace.. She is a member of St.Anthony Catholic Church in Mackinaw City.She has been very active in her community and will be missed greatly by those who knew her. She married Raymond Mularz in 1990 in Bay City, and he survives. Also a daughter; Susan Murray (Kevin King) Indianapolis, Indiana; a son, Robert (Dana) Murray of Midland; step daughters, Julia (Don) Hundley, Auburn; Renee (Jon) Mrozinski, Bay City; Melissa (Tom) Smith, Midland; and a brother, Ted (Paula) Smith, Higgins Lake; and grandchildren; Kevin, Katelyn, Cameron, Allyson, Matthew, Emma, Curtis and Hannah. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9 at St.Anthony Catholic Church in Mackinaw City from 10 am to 12 noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held with Sr. Chris Herald and Fr. Paul Magge officiating. The family has requested memorials to be directed to St.Anthony Church with envelopes available from Dodson Funeral Home, 240 McCann Street, St.Ignace 49781 who assisted with arrangements.
