Nadine Mary Socia Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Nadine Mary Socia, age 59, of Drummond Island, Michigan, died on May 16, 2022. She was born January 18, 1963, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Sylvester Joseph and Rita Marie (Urban) Samus. Nadine grew up in the Detroit area and graduated from Crestwood High School. Soon after, she moved to Drummond Island where she lived her entire adult life. She worked as a waitress at The Northwood, Moose Lodge, and Pins, while she raised her family. Nadine was a member of the St. Florence Catholic Church and Women of the Moose on Drummond Island. Nadine enjoyed solving puzzles, fishing with her boys, playing with her dog, Shadow, cooking for her children, flower gardening, watching crime shows, and spending time with her grandchildren. Nadine is survived by three sons, Justin (Ashley) Samus of Drummond Island, Jonathan (Amanda) Socia of Drummond Island, and Jesse (Christy) Fravala of DeTour Village, Michigan; grandchildren, Chase Socia, Chloe Socia, Colton Socia, Drayke Fravala, Darren Fravala, Dustin Fravala, and Sydney Pahl; and sisters, Diana O’Flynn of Wixom, Michigan, Corinne (David) Murphy of Livonia, Michigan, Sharon (Jeff) Stitzel of Warren, Michigan, Lisa (Michael) Belloli of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Sandra (Frank) Rudowski of Dearborn, Michigan, and Gladys (Art) Ortiz of Santa Barbara, California. Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Rita Samus; and brother-in-law, James O’Flynn. Services will be Thursday, May 19, at St. Florence Catholic Church on Drummond Island. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be in Drummond Island Township Cemetery.
