Nedra Mary Hough Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Nedra Mary Hough, 84 of Evergreen Shores, St,Ignace passed away Wednesday evening, January 20 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hosiptal in Petoskey surronded by her loving family. She was born March 14,1931 in Moran to Phillip and Esther (Becker) Belonga, one of 10 children. She graduated from LaSalle High School and also attended Ursuline Academy in St.Ignace. She was an operator for Michigan Bell Telephone many years until closing the system in 1974, then was a waitress at Shores Restaurant in Everrgreen Shores, and Embers Restaurant, in Mackinaw City, working for the Gosciniak family over 20 years. She is a member of St.Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church and St.Anns Altar Society. She loved to play cribbage and was a loyal bingo player. She was very faithful to her church, attending regular Mass. She is a member of Sault Tribe Chippewa Indians. On December 18,1954 she married Daniel Hough in Masassis, Virginia, where he was stationed in the U.S.Navy; He died September 4,2003. Surviving are her family, Sons, Larry (Mary) Hough, St.Ignace; Jim Hough, St.Ignace; Michael (Vicki) Hough, St.Ignace; daughters, Danette (Bo) Andrews, St.Ignace, and Angela (Keith) Kinney, St,Ignace; sisters, Patricia Martin, St.Ignace and Judy(John) Winandi, Hessel; brother, Dale Belonga, St.Ignace and special friend, Kay Olcott. also 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren., and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death besides her husband, her son, Phillip "Barney" on January 2,1998; her siblings, Phyllis King; Tuffey Belonga, Joan Adams, Janice Werkheiser, Billy Belonga, Mike Belonga; sister in law, Delina Belonga; sister in law, Frances, Delamonte ; brother in law, Larry Hough. Friends may call at Dodson Funeral Home on Friday , January 22 from 4 to 7 pm when prayers will be recited. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 23 at 11 am at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church with Fr. Frank Ricca and Deacon Tom McClelland offiiciating. Burial will be in St.Ignatius Cemetery beside her husband and her son, Barney in the spring.
