Robert James Beaudry

Robert “Bob” James Beaudry, age 82, died at home in Kinross, Michigan, on May 9, 2022. He was born on January 23, 1940, in Manistique, Michigan to Ovela and Doris Loraine (Macabee) Beaudry. Bob grew up in Kinross and moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan, in his teens. He worked for the Saline Reporter, and Ann Arbor News, as a machinist for twelve years. He met Mary Blackwell and they married on November 14, 1959, in Ypsilanti. They drove taxicab for several years. In 1974, they moved to Kinross and operated B & D County Market until 1982, and then worked for Forest Supply. They moved back to Ypsilanti and Bob worked at Eastern Michigan University as a maintenance tech for seventeen years. He retired in 2005 and they returned to Kinross. Bob was a member of the Lion’s Club in Kinross. Bob loved nature and enjoyed to deer hunt, working in his yard-enjoying a “cold drink”, bird watching, and watching the freighters pass through the canal in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. Bob is survived by his sons, Thomas Lee (Tyyne) Beaudry of Cheboygan, Michigan, and James (Rick) Beaudry of Kinross; daughter, Cheryl Ann (Orville) Gregg of Kinross; grandchildren, Ryan (Heather) Beaudry, Preston Beaudry, Trevor Gregg, and Michelle (William) Shields; great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Beaudry, Lucinda Beaudry, Izabelle Shields, and Avamarie Shields; sisters, Diane (Victor) Baglio of Naples, Florida, and Cecelia (Gary) England of Belleville, Michigan; and brother, Michael Beaudry of Pasanda, Texas. Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Beaudry; and parents, Ovela and Doris Beaudry; brother-in-law, JC Blackwell. Visitation will be held at Galer Funeral Homes & Cremation, 24549 S. M-129 in Pickford, Michigan, on Monday, May 16 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Kinross Township.
