Vivienne Patricia Lorraine Carmichael Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Vivienne Patricia Lorraine (Gilhooly) Carmichael, age 91, of Drummond Island, Michigan, died May 15, 2022, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital, under hospice care, in Petoskey, Michigan. She was born in Wayne County, Michigan, on December 23, 1930, to Stanley Percy and Edna Pearl (Downey) Gilhooly. Vivienne grew up around Warren, Michigan, and graduated from Lincoln High School. She met Donald Carmichael and they married on September 16, 1950. Donald joined the military and she worked at local supermarkets for a few years until they started their family. Since 1963, they would spend their vacations and summers on Drummond Island until they permanently moved there in 1994. Vivienne was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge on Drummond Island. She also attended the Lutheran Church on Drummond Island, while actively singing in the choir, and was a member of homemakers. Vivienne loved crafts, reading, hunting, fishing with Don, and spending time with family on the boat. She also helped build their home on the water. Vivienne is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Ron Bowen) Spudowski of Chesterfield, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Diana Carmichael-Owens of Sterling Heights, Michigan; grandchildren, Karessa (Jim) Mucci, Janelle (Jeremy) Klauka, David (Crystal) Spudowski, Christopher (Hailee) Carmichael, and William Carmichael; great-grandchildren, Mischa Mucci, Colten Klauka, Mason Klauka, and future great grandchild, Savannah Carmichael; many beloved step grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Elaine Mitich of Michigan; and brothers, Ed (Shirley) Gilhooly and Merv Gilhooly of Florida. Vivienne is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Edna Gilhooly; husband, Don; son, David Carmichael; brother-in-law, Steve Mitich; and grandchild, Heather Spudowski.
